Below are a few paintings/decorations I did including a NYC (Jets themed) skyline painting, a bull painting, a bear painting, and a wall collage.
Wall collage: I scoured thrift shops all over Manhattan to find masculine/affordable/unique pieces of art. I added to the collage: a painting of my own (bottom right), a photo that I took of his lake house (bottom left), and a photo of us walking from behind on a beach where I copied and altered the colors to make an Andy Warhol type piece (top left). I would love to add paintings to cover the entire wall eventually.
My grandmother was downsizing her home and I was able to get away with taking an old bar cart, which happened to be an apartment saver as the corner was becoming a pile of coats! I went thrift store to thrift store to find unique pieces to add to the bar cart. At each store I took photos of pieces that I liked. The last store I went into was the West Elm near my apartment where I looked back at all my pictures and decided what items I was going to go back and buy. I ended up buying: dollar whiskey and wine glasses, dollar mini ceramic plates, a three dollar gold container, two plants from TJ Maxx, discounted towels, and added a lamp, carafe, book, and some wine bottles I had in my room. Nook transformed!
With little money in our pockets, Lindsay and I picked out a beautiful (but neglected) short plump tree. It wasn't very pretty but after some reused tissue paper, tinfoil, tape, string, a needle, some twinkle lights, and a few hour's past my bedtime... we soon had a beautiful tree! Merry Christmas!
I found these old wooden bed frames in the garage and thought they would make great wall decor. I then went to Home Depot and found beautiful curved hooks to screw into the wood. I love the organic feel of the wood planks combined with the industrial metals of the hooks.
