Going Away Party DIY Decorations

My best friend and roommate is relocating to San Francisco, so I wanted to have a going away party for her.  I also did not want to spend a lot of money so I decided to make decorations with quotes about San Fran using different colored paper and some hemp string. I formatted them in Word to look like bag tags (for the going away theme), hole punched them, and hung them all around the apartment.  Took quite a bit of time but well worth it!

Baby's Breath Ball - DIY

The making of a baby's breath ball for Spring:
I tied some mesh hemp around the styrofoam to allow for easy hanging.  After that, I used wire cutters to cut some fake white flowers and place them pretty close to the styrofoam (to cover up the ugly green color of the styrofoam).  I then cut up the baby's breath and delicately poked the stems into the styrofoam... it now feels like Spring in our apartment.

One way to celebrate Easter...

Clay Easter Eggs

This past weekend I decorated Easter eggs with different colored polymer clay; I hollowed out the eggs, pressed some clay delicately in different patterns, and baked in the oven at 350* for a few minutes.  After the eggs were hard, I simply painted them with shellac and let them dry.  The process is not only fun but the eggs come out great and they last forever!

Birch Tree Painting

These Birch trees took me a long time but quickly became my favorite painting that I've done yet!

I really love the background color
